Released Offender: VAUGHN R. HANSEN
The public is invited to a sex offender notification meeting on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 6:00 pm. The notification will be held at the Richard V. Polzin COP House 1900 16th Street. This meeting is in regard to VAUGHN R. HANSEN who will be residing in the 1400 block of Washington Avenue. Representatives of the Racine Police Department and Wisconsin Department of Corrections will be present to provide more information. This meeting is
informational only and is not a forum for public comment. Adult subject matter will be discussed at this meeting and we ask that only adults attend.
The Racine Police Department is releasing the following information pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency; the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. MR. HANSEN has been convicted of sex offenses and his criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects the potential to re-offend.
This offender has served the incarceration sentence imposed on him by the courts. MR. HANSEN is NOT wanted by the police. This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will NOT be tolerated.
VAUGHN HANSEN will be released to the community on or before October 14, 2015. He was convicted in 1990 for three counts of 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. In 1990 MR. HANSEN was convicted of sexually assaulting three minors, all under 8 years of age. MR. HANSEN will be placed on supervised release. He is required to wear a Global Positioning System bracelet and he is a lifetime registrant of the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program.
