Person of Interest in custody for attempted homicide



Investigators at the Racine Police Department currently have a person of interest in custody. This continues to be an active investigation, and investigators continue to encourage any community member with information about this event to contact the Racine Police Department Investigation Unit at (262) 635- 7756.

On 12/4/2015 at 1:55am Officers responded to St. Marys emergency room in reference to a 59 year old female who had arrived at the emergency room with life threatening knife wounds. Officers spoke to a person who arrived with her and was told the female victim had been cut during an attempted robbery. Officers determined a possible location of incident and secured a scene at a home in the 1700 block of Erie St.

Due to the severity of the injuries, Major Crimes Evidence Technicians were activated and responded to the scene.
