The person in this picture is a suspect in the bomb threat at the Racine County Courthouse this morning.
It was determined early on that the threat made was directed at the Courthouse; not the Law Enforcement Center.
The public phone used was located in the 1300 block of Lathrop Avenue. Anyone that may have information to this person’s identity should contact the Racine County Sheriff’s Office at the following phone number 636-3323.
947.015 Bomb scares. Whoever intentionally conveys or causes to be conveyed any threat or false information, knowing such to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made or to be made to destroy any property by the means of explosives is guilty of a Class I felony. Punishment for a Class I felony is as follows: a fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed 3 years and 6 months, or both.
At 1:00pm, the Racine County Courthouse was re-opened after the building was thoroughly searched and cleared by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office with negative results. The investigation as to who made the threat is ongoing. All Racine County Courthouse business has resumed as normal.
1100am: During the course of this investigation, a location where the call was placed has been identified. While the investigation continues into this threat, we are unable to release any additional information at this time.
0942am: On 10/26/15 at approximately 0827 hours, a bomb threat was made against the Racine County Courthouse. The Sheriff’s Office responded immediately and the courthouse was evacuated. Racine County Sheriff’s investigators, deputies, and buildings and facilities staff are doing a thorough search of the building. The Sheriff’s Office is also working on an intensive investigation into the threat made. At this time, ALL areas of the Racine County Courthouse will be closed until 1:00pm. No further information will be provided at this time.
