Pregnant woman flees from Mount Pleasant Police hitting fire hydrant

MPPD logoOn 12-23-2015 at 7:31 p.m., Mount Pleasant Police Officers were dispatched to the Dollar Tree located at 5201 Washington Avenue in the Village of Mount Pleasant in reference to a person who requested assistance due to locking their keys inside of their car. Officers arrived to the scene to assist to open the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, JEANIQUA BRUMBY 24, of Racine had multiple warrants for her arrest between the Racine Police Department and Mount Pleasant Police Department. She was given an opportunity to satisfy the warrants, but instead fled from Officers from the scene to the area of Washington and Roosevelt where she lost control of her vehicle and struck a fire hydrant. She then attempted to flee on foot but was caught and taken into custody by Officers.

Due to her accident, coupled with the information learned that she was seven months pregnant; she was transported to the Wheaton Franciscan Emergency Room for her safety.

BRUMBY faces numerous charges as well as her original warrants that have to be satisfied

This matter is now being handled by the Racine County District Attorneys Office
