Job coaching refers to the training of an employee to help the employee learn to perform job tasks to the employer’s specifications and to learn the interpersonal skills necessary to be accepted as a worker at the job site and in related community contacts, and competitive employment situation. In addition to job-site training, job coaching includes related assessment, advocacy, and other services needed to maintain contractual employment services and assist individuals in maintaining of competitive employment.
Through job coaching, a job coach works directly with an individual with a disability in a training or placement site to help him/her learn the specific requirements of the job; learn work-related activities and requirements such as time and attendance rules; and learn appropriate work-related (including social) behaviors when dealing with supervisors and co-workers.
This position is part-time and is 28.5 hours per week. This position will require an individual that is able to be flexible as needed to meet the needs of individual work schedules. There is a possibility of day time, evening, weekend day and weekend night hours. The majority of the hours will be second shift.
Certificate or diploma beyond high school desired. Preferred college coursework and/or experience in human service field preferred. College students and intern students are urged to apply.
