Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies take life saving steps to save man after heart attack


RCSOOn 03/17/2016 at 1:34 pm the Racine County Communications Center received a 911 call from the Burlington RV Super Store located on S Sylvania Ave reporting a male adult was having a Heart Attack. As the RCCC was dispatching squads from the Racine County Sheriffs Office to the call an update was put out the male had stopped breathing and they were giving CPR instructions to the caller over the phone.

Deputies arrived on scene within 2 minutes and immediately took over lifesaving steps by hooking the patient up to a heart-start defibrillator which is carried in all of the Sheriffs Office squads. 2 Deputies then took over the CPR activities and continued performing CPR until rescue personnel from the Union Grove/Yorkville Fire Department arrived. As the Deputies performed CPR, the defibrillator administered 3 shocks to the patient, who was later transported to Wheaton Hospital on Spring St.

At the time of this press release, the patient, a 54 year old from Illinois is currently in ICU at Wheaton Hospital.
