The City of Racine Fire Department (RFD) is in the process of formulating a strategic plan. The RFD will implement and use this plan as a road map for our department to follow for the next 5 to 10 years and beyond. If the strategic planning process is a success we will continue on a path of self improvement with the goal of becoming accredited by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. This accreditation is recognized internationally and typically takes between 3 and 5 years.
We are asking for input from the community that we serve. We would like to know what you expect from the fire department and what you know about the services that we presently provide. We have created a simple survey with hope that many of you will provide input.
The data that we collect from the community will be used together with data we collect from our fire department members and City of Racine business and civic leaders. This data will drive our strategic plan as well as our mission and vision statements.
The strategic planning committee is represented by all ranks of the fire department from privates to chief officers and all have an equal voice. We will work hard to structure a plan that reflects what is important to all that participate in the surveys and strategic planning process and provide a quality of service that will be recognized and supported.
So please take a few moments and fill out the community survey online, on the City of Racine’s public website at http://cityofracine.org/Departments/Fire-Dept/Fire-News/2016RFDCommunitySurvey/
The survey will be available through Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Please be safe and have a good day.
