Racine man charged with 7th OWI

dahle David L Dahle, 63 of Racine has been charged with his 7th OWI (OWI (7th, 8th or 9th). He made his initial appearance Wednesday in Racine Circuit Court and was given a $10,000 cash bond.

According to the criminal complaint on October 7th, Caledonia Police responded the Hwy 31 and 6 Mile reference a car accident. Upon arrival officers discovered three vehicles had been involved in the accident. Victims report that the defendants vehicle went through the intersection hitting one vehicle and causing that vehicle to crash into a third vehicle. When officers began speaking to the defendant it was observed he was dazed refused to answer questions and was stumbling while he walked. When asked to perform a field sobriety test the defendant allegedly started to scream in pain and laid on the ground. Officers were able to see two Jacquin’s 200 ml 80 proof brandy bottles in the defendants vehicle and observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the defendant and his eyes were bloodshot and glassy. The defendant consented to a breath test which the results came back as .16 BAC

Rescue was called for the defendant and once the defendant was place into the ambulance he was informed that he was under arrest for OWI. He was transported to hospital where a warrant was obtained for a legal blood draw.
