Racine Man Charged With Attempted Homicide in Connection with Douglas Ave Shooting

conrese-williams Conrese S Williams Jr, 23 of Racine has been charged with attempted 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide and Possess Firearm-Convicted of a Felony. He was given a $100,000 cash bond after appearing Monday October 3,2016 in Racine Circuit Courts. His Preliminary hearing on October 13, 2016.

According to the criminal complaint on October 1,2016 Racine Police responded to the 1800 block of Douglas Ave. for shots fired and a man possibly down. Upon arrival officers spoke with witnesses who heard shots fired and one witness reported a loud commotion and someone banging on the building door, where the victim was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the hallway.

The victim was transported to the hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim told officers that he had been taking out the garbage when the defendant who appeared intoxicated approached him complaining about being evicted. The victim states he recognized the defendant as a boyfriend of a tenant at the building and then the defendant was in front of him shooting him at point blank range. The defendant was located outside a building in the 1800 block of Douglas Ave and was positively identified from a photo line up
