Rashae M Wilson 27 of Racine has been charged with Robbery with Use of Force and Aggravated Battery-Elderly. He was given a $10,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance Thursday in Racine Circuit Courts
According to the criminal complaint on May 19,2016 Racine Police responded to the 1600 block of N. Wisconsin Street for a report of a strong armed robbery. Upon arrival officers found the 79 year old victim bleeding from the ear and shaken up. The victim stated he was working in his garage when the defendant entered the garage pushing him causing him to fall into a cabinet and then to the ground. The defendant then grabbed the victims wallet and glasses and fled the scene.
Officers spoke with witnesses who saw the defendant flee the scene and throw the wallet over a fence. Officers were able to recover the wallet but it was missing $100. Officer located a resident who had security cameras and were able to review the video footage of the suspect riding a distinct bicycle.
The criminal complaint states that officers located the defendant 2 and a half hours later riding the same bicycle. Witnesses were able to positively identify the defendant in a photo line up. When questioned the defendant told police he told them that he was at his grandmothers house at the time of the robbery which relatives stated was not true and then changed it to he was at another location which conflicted his first story.
