During the morning hours of June 25th, agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit, Racine County Sheriff’s Office investigators and patrol deputies executed two narcotics related search warrants. The search warrants were issued pursuant to an investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) that agents of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office Metro Drug Unit have been investigating for over six months.
A Drug Trafficking Organization is defined as a group of at least five or more persons whose principle activity is to generate income or assets through a continuing series of illegal drug distributions, and of which has a defined leader. Over the past six months, agents have made numerous controlled purchases of cocaine from members of this group, totaling approximately 6 ½ ounces. This group operated primarily in the city of Racine.
The street value of the cocaine is not being reported because the price of cocaine can vary drastically depending on the quality and the amount being purchased. This morning agents arrested the leader of the group, Robin J. Ellison, age 28, after serving a search warrant at his residence in the 4200 block of Spring Street. Agents then served a search warrant at the residence of Francisco I. Delacruz, age 26, residing in the 3800 block of Kinzie Avenue. From this residence, agents seized a loaded semi-automatic .45 caliber handgun, a .357 revolver and a short barreled shotgun. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are forthcoming. Both suspects are being held in the Racine County jail on the following charges:
Robin J. Ellison: Thirteen counts of delivering cocaine.
Francisco I. Delacruz: Eight counts of delivering cocaine.
