RCSO-Bomb threat at Waterford school Friday morning

RCSOWATERFORD-On 10/09/15 at 9:53am, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office responded to Trailside Elementary School in the Village of Waterford regarding a bomb threat that was written on a bathroom wall.

Racine Sheriff Deputies responded immediately and assisted school officials with the safe and orderly evacuation out of the school. The students and staff were then transported by buses to Evergreen Elementary School in the Village of Waterford. The Trailside Elementary School Staff and Sheriff Deputies were extremely well prepared and organized which resulted in a quick response and safe evacuation.

Our RASO investigative team worked quickly and determined that the threat was not credible. The incident remains under investigation but there is a person of interest being questioned. Preliminary investigation appears to indicate there is no immediate threat to any staff or other students.

This appears to be an isolated incident and does not affect any other area schools. The RASO and Waterford Graded School District Administrator has indicated Trailside School and staff will return to Trailside Elementary this afternoon.
