JJ McAullife (owner of McAuliffe’s Pub and McAuliffe’s on the Square) is one of the Stage Managers at the Milwaukee Irish Festival (Celtic Rock Stage). When the Red Hot Chilli Pipers (winners of England’s Got Talent) first came over to America they became fast friends. They did a rare performance at McAuliffe’s Pub and had so much fun it’s become a regular thing when they come to Milwaukee to play Irish Fest. Over the years he has helped them with their merchandise to the point were because their friendship and the fact they trust him, it became an actual job for him. He is considered a member of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers on a crew capacity. So over the years instead of shipping the hundreds and hundreds of CD’s, DVD’s, T shirts, hats, hoodies, etc, etc, to all the festival’s they fly into. They send it to Racine and JJ inventories, stores the merchandise and takes it to where ever they may be playing. That’s where the Racine connection comes in. One of Europe’s hottest bands keeps merchandise year round in Racine and then takes one of its natives with them on tour.
They are friends with another fast rising Scottish band called Skerryvore. Like the Pipers Skerryvore’s played the stage at Irish Fest and became friends. They saw the work that JJ does with the Pipers and asked if he could do the same for them. He was happy to and so now two of Scotland’s biggest bands keep merchandise in Racine year round until it’s time to tour. The band Skerryvore have even flown JJ to Tiree Scotland a small island on the western Scottish sea to be a MC at their Tiree Music Festival. TMF has been voted 3 times as the UK’s best small festival.
