Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 10p.m.

NWSLow pressure is expected to slide east southeast across parts of southern Wisconsin later this afternoon and evening, following a warm front. The low will also bring a cold front southeastward through the area this evening. Warm and moist air will continue to flow northward into the area this afternoon, and help create unstable conditions across the area.

As the low and frontal boundaries move through the area later this afternoon and early this evening, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop. Strong wind shear aloft will help bring the possibility of strong to severe storms during this time.

It appears that the best chances for storm development will be over southeast Wisconsin late this afternoon and early this evening, mainly between 4 pm and 8 pm CDT. The main threat is large hail and damaging winds from the scattered thunderstorms
