Stevens Point shooting suspect identified

Stevens Point Police Department have identified a suspect in the March 17th shooting on the 2700 Block of 5th Avenue. According to a release from the department, police are now investigating the incident as an attempted homicide, although the victim, 21-year-old Deonta Lezine remains in critical condition. Deonta is a 2013 Horlick graduate

The suspect is 30-year-old Kyle C. Engen. He is 6 foot tall, weighs 155 pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes. Police said he has a tattoo of the numbers 420 on his right arm. They said he could be driving a maroon or purple Lexus SUV. Police believe he has a handgun.

Engen’s whereabouts are currently unknown. Stevens Point Detectives are following leads in Dane County with the assistance of the Dane County Sheriff’s Department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact your local law enforcement agencies. Police said if he is spotted, do not approach him and call 911.
