Suspect appears on charges of selling heroin and keeping a drug house

Jermaine S. Ervin, 42 of Racine has been charged with three counts of Manufacture/Deliver Heroin (<3g) and one count of Maintain Drug Trafficking Place. He is being held on $2,500 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court Thursday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11-19-2015.

According to the criminal complaint members of the Racine Police Department Special Investigations Unit made controlled purchases from the defendant in the months of October and November 2015. On November 12, 2015 members of the Special Investigations Unit executed a no knock search warrant at his residence in the 1100 block of Douglas Ave. In a bedroom which was identified as the defendants officers located $837 and a digital scale. In another bedroom of the residence which was locked, officers located 4 baggies weighing 1.4 grams which tested positive for cocaine as well as 10 baggies weighing 5.1 grams which tested positive for opiates (heroin) along with identification for the defendant’s room mate.
