Suspect charged in connection with armed robbery of SF Petroleum

Archie A Wenger 26 of Racine has been charged with one count of armed robbery. He was given a $50,000 bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Court Thursday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 30, 2016.

According to the criminal complaint on March 20,2016 at 9 a.m. Mount Pleasant Police responded to SF Petroleum located at 2325 Racine Street for an armed robbery, upon arrival the victim told them he was robbed at gunpoint for cash, cell phone and cordless phone.

The victim stated that he saw the defendant standing outside. A white SUV pulled up and a female came into the business and made a purchase, the victim noticed the defendant walk up to the SUV and obtain something from the male driver. The SUV left the area and the defendant came into the store wearing a mask, armed with a handgun telling the victim “Give me the money Dude!”.

Officers were able to locate the parties in the SUV who recognized the defendant and stated that he asked for a cigarette when they pulled into the parking lot. Officers later located the defendant at his home where he was wearing the same clothing he was seen wearing in the store security video.
