rcsok9On 01-08-15 the Racine County Sheriff Deputy assigned to the Village of Union Grove was flagged down by a citizen at the Union Grove High School reporting a person in the area of US 45 and Spring St trying to flag down cars. Upon arriving at the intersection the deputy located a vehicle in the gas station parking lot on the north west corner of the intersection with its passenger side airbags deployed and missing its passenger side tires. The driver of the vehicle, a 36 year old male out of Illinois was located in the restroom of the gas station and refused rescue. Upon running the driver for warrants he was found to have multiple warrants out of Racine and Kenosha Counties and out of the state of Illinois and was listed as armed and dangerous on the warrants. When the deputy was handcuffing the driver, he spun around hitting the deputy in the head. The deputy then attempted to taser the driver who made it back to his car and took off west bound on Spring St. The driver then stopped the vehicle about one mile west of US 45 and took of on foot north bound through a farm field. A perimeter was set up and a RASO K9 unit was called to the scene. The driver was located in the farm filed, refused deputy commands and was then taken into custody with the assistance of the RASO K9 Nitro.

The driver was taken into custody on multiple warrants and fresh charges including OWI fourth, fleeing and eluding, and battery to a police officer.
