Third Annual Bridging the Gaps in Mental Health Symposium to be held October 6

headerOn October 6, United Way of Racine County, Infinite Potential Central ( and National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) of Racine County invite the community to attend the Third Annual Bridging the Gaps in Mental Health Symposium: Mental Health Recovery is Real.

The event will feature four personal mental illness recovery stories:
 Dr. Eric Gallien, Deputy Superintendent of Racine Unified School District
 Haley Schonter, Miss Racine 2016
 Mary Wilson, NAMI Racine County Outreach Worker
 Dr. Soheila Brouk, Founder, Infinite Potential Central

Additionally, there will be a panel discussion on status of mental health in Racine County. Panelists include:
 Anne Hysaw, LCSW, School-Based Therapist, SC Johnson Elementary School
 Tom Christensen, Caledonia Village Administrator/Former Law Enforcement Officer Racine Police Department, NAMI Wisconsin co-President, Crisis intervention Training Facilitator
 Jonathan Delagrave, Racine County Executive
 Mary Wilson, NAMI Racine County Outreach Worker
 Haley Schonter, Miss Racine 2016

Lastly, an individual will be honored with the first annual Luann Simpson Commitment to Recovery Award. The recipient will have clearly taken steps to achieve recovery in his/her own life, have further utilized recovery to provide awareness and hope to peers, brought recognition and appreciation of recovery philosophies to the community, and implemented change within local and larger systems.
