Original-On Tuesday August 30th 2016 at 2:27 pm, the Racine County Communications Center received 911 calls for two vehicles involved in an accident in the 1500 block of S. Sylvania Ave. in the Town of Yorkville. Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and found two occupants from one of the vehicles involved were severely injured. The injured parties were a married couple from the Village of Union Grove. The injured couple was transported by rescue to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. The male sustained serious injuries, but they were not life threatening. The wife did not survive her injuries and passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital. The driver of the 2nd vehicle involved was not injured.

Our preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the 2nd vehicle failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn. At this time it appears alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash. It appears all parties were using their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
