Two Racine women charged with stealing over $1600 of baby formula

courtDesiree R Brown 21 of Racine has been charged with three counts of Retail Theft – Intentionally Take >$500 – $5000)and Shaunese N Felton 35 of Racine have each been charged with two counts of Retail Theft – Intentionally Take >$500 – $5000) and two counts of Retail Theft – Intentionally Take (<=$500). Both defendants were given a $500 signature bond after appearing Wednesday afternoon in Racine Circuit Court.

 

According to the criminal complaint on September 13, 2015 Investigators with the Mount Pleasant Police Department were reviewing video footage of three shop lifting incidents. The first one happened on August 26, 2015 where 28 cans of baby formula were stolen at a value of $531.72 from the Pick N Save located at 2820 S. Green Bay, both suspect were seen leaving the store with the items and not paying for them. The second incident happened on August 29,2015 where 6 cans of baby formula valued at $113.94 was stolen from Pick N Save at 2820 S. Green Bay, video again caught the two defendants leaving the store without paying for the items. On August 30,2015 the two suspects entered the Pick N Save at 2820 Greenbay and took 30 cans of formula valued at $569.70. According to video footage the defendants concealed the merchandise and left the store without paying for the items.

 

According to the criminal complaint, on September 2, 2015 Burlington Police took a reports of a shoplifting at Walmart. Witnesses reported that a heavy set black female concealed numerous tubs of baby formula and fled in a vehicle. The formula was valued at $412.

Mount Pleasant Police contacted Burlington Police who confirmed the two defendants identities. Mount Pleasant Police were able to confirm through booking photos the two defendants as the suspects in the three Mount Pleasant Shopliftings and one in Burlington.
