Waterford man arrested for 4th OWI

Jeffrey Klevene Jeffrey Allen Klevene, 45 of Waterford has been charged with felony OWI (4th w/in 5 yrs) and Operating While Revoked (Rev due to alc/contr subst/refusal). He was given a $2,000 cash bond after making his initial appearance in Racine Circuit Courts Tuesday afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint on Saturday June 11, 2016, officers with the Waterford Police Department observed a vehicle with no license plates, deviate left of the center line 9 times. Officers initiated his emergency light to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle continued on from right from Lake Drive from Tichigan Road and finally stopped in the midst of a turn and was advised by police to pull into a driveway of a residence.

The complaint states that when officers made contact with the defendant the defendant allegedly told them “I know why you are stopping me”. “I was swerving and there is no license plate on the vehicle. Officers observed the defendant had glassy eyes and slurred speech and a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath. When officers asked the defendant how much he had had to drink, he replied “Too much, I’m drunk”. The defendant was asked to do a field sobriety test which he agreed to do. Based on the results of the test officers asked him for a PBT sample, according to the results documented in the complaint, the results was a .202, he provided a blood sample and was transported to Racine County Jail
