NWS-WINTER-STORM-WARNINGSNOW WILL OVERSPREAD SOUTHERN WISCONSIN THIS EVENING WITH HEAVY
SNOW OCCURRING AT TIMES FROM THE MADISON AREA EAST TO THE
MILWAUKEE METROPOLITAN AREA…AND SOUTH INTO ILLINOIS. LAKE
ENHANCED SNOW WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE SNOW AMOUNTS OVER SOUTHEAST
WISCONSIN. THE SNOW WILL GRADUALLY END FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS
THE REGION ON SATURDAY…BUT NOT END OVER SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN
UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON. INTENSIFYING LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK FROM
THE CENTRAL GREAT PLAINS TO NEAR DETROIT TONIGHT AND
SATURDAY…BRINGING THE SNOW TO SOUTHERN WISCONSIN.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MILWAUKEE/SULLIVAN HAS ISSUED A
WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9
PM THIS EVENING TO 3 PM CST SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING…MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW DEVELOPING THIS EVENING AND
LASTING INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…6 TO 10 INCHES WITH THE HIGHEST TOTALS NEAR
THE ILLINOIS BORDER.

* WINDS…NORTH 10 TO 20 MPH ON SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS…SNOW COVERED ROADS…WITH SOME DRIFTING…AND GREATLY
REDUCED VISIBILITIES.
