Woman charged with bomb threat, left message “This is ISIS, ISIS is going to explode SEDA”

Thania Rodriguez, 35 of Racine has been charged with felony Bomb Scares, and Unlawful Phone Use-Threaten w/Conceal.ID. She was given a $1,000 cash bond after making her initial appearance in Racine Circuit court Friday afternoon. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 12-23-2015.

According to the criminal complaint, on December 17,2015 Investigators with the Mount Pleasant Police Department were requested to assist with the investigation into a bomb threat at SEDA Packaging. The bomb threat came in via a voice mail and made reference to being association to “ISIS”.

The voice mail was received by an employee who had missed a call at 9:14 a.m. and didn’t listen to it till around 10 a.m. The voice mails messaged stated “This is ISIS, ISIS is going to explode SEDA. This is a bomb threat for SEDA, believe it or not this is ISIS. We are already installed at SEDA. You will be down today. I will give you 30 minutes to plan, get out, do not feel sorry for not listening. You Mother EXPLETIVE for firing me. I got my ISIS on you. Expletive America, today you all die at SEDA. 15 minutes, don’t even try calling police “, the complaint states.

Investigators were able to trace where the call originated from and spoke with the owner of the cell phone who stated the defendant had asked to borrow it. The defendant was observed on video walking from the cafeteria to the front lobby at the time of the threat with the cell phone in her hand. Officers were able to locate the defendant and during the interview she stated that she did borrow the cell phone but only to call the doctor and denied any involvement in the bomb threat.
