Qualifications – Voters Must Be:

18 years of age on or before the next election date

a United States Citizen

a resident of the City of Racine and Aldermanic District twenty eight (28) days prior registering as a voter for the next election

not currently serving a sentence including probation or parole for a felony conviction.

Outside registration closes at 5:00 p.m. twenty (20) days before each election. Anyone wishing to register after this date may do so in the City Clerk’s Office or at the polling place on the date of the election.

You must provide proof of residence when you register to vote. Acceptable forms of identification must show the name of the voter and the address they are declaring as their residence. Some examples of acceptable identification include, but are not limited to, the following:

How to Register & Vote at the Polls

Are you Qualified to Vote?

You may vote if:

You are a United States Citizen;

You are 18 years or older on or before election day;

You have lived here for 28 days before this election; and

You are registered to vote or are registering on or before election day. You must provide proof of residence to register and vote on election day.

You may not vote if:

You have voted in this election already.

You are still required to report to a probation or parole officer because of a felony conviction.

You have been ruled incapable of voting by a judge.
