Man arrested for stealing from his employer


handcuffsOn February 11, 2016 the Mount Pleasant police department received a complaint of theft by an employee of Point One Recruiting, located at 8411 Corporate Drive in the Village of Mount Pleasant. The subsequent investigation determined that Michael Amundson was employed by Point One as a recruiter. He was responsible for the recruitment and placement of employees to companies that had retained Point One. Amundson on several occasions had failed to report unsuccessful placements to the management staff at Point One. Amundson than refunded the fee paid by the customer but kept the commission he received as though it was a successful placement. Amundson on at least 6 occasions, falsified documents to support that he had successfully placed employees with companies, in order to claim his commission. These commissions totaled in excess of $40,000.00

Based in the information provided and supporting documents obtained during the investigation,

Michael S. Amundson, was arrested and charges were submitted to the District Attorneys office for a violation of state statute 943.20(1)(b) Theft business setting over $10.000.00 (Felony)
