Mount Pleasant Man Charged With Burglary After It’s Caught on Video

Daniel M Sanger, 54 of Mount Pleasant has been charged with felony Burglary-Building or Dwelling. He was given a $400.00 cash bond after appearing in Racine Courts Tuesday afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint on November 28,2016 Mount Pleasant Police responded to a burglary at Sound Decisions located at 1144 S. Airline Road. The victim stated that when he arrived he observed the glass on the door broken along with change and checks strewn around the business and the cash drawer was missing.

The victim and officers reviewed video surveillance footage showing the defendant driving a vehicle to the business at 7:40 p.m. The defendant then allegedly broke the front glass to the door with brick. The defendant then removes the cash drawer exiting the business grabbing the brick along the way.

The complaint states that the victim stated defendants vehicle looked familiar as they did work on it earlier in the year and that the owner of the vehicle was the person responsible for breaking into the business.

On November 29,2016 the defendant was arrested and was interviewed. He told officers that he was at the business on November 25,2016; however, he did not admit to burglarizing the business but he was only at the business to schedule work.
