Racine Man Charged With Attempted Homicide After December 12th Shooting On Marquette Drive

Marvin D Lother, 25 of Racine has been charged felony attempted 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide and Possess Firearm-Convicted of a Felony. He was given a $75,000 cash bond after appearing in Racine Courts Wednesday afternoon. His preliminary hearing is scheduled on December 22

According to the criminal complaint on December 12,2016 Racine Police were dispatched to a residence in the 4300 block of Marquette Drive for a report of shooting at 4:30am. Upon arrival officers spoke to witnesses who stated they heard scuffling and shots being fired. They found a victim having been shot in the leg and advised them the defendant had been responsible for the shooting.

The victim stated that he had heard a knock at the door and recognized the defendant, they were standing in the kitchen talking he was shot by the defendant. The victim stated that they had been in an earlier argument regarding the defendant not picking up the victim from the southside and driving him home. The victim approached the defendant in an attempt to grab the gun, when he heard what he thought was a second shot going off. He stated that the defendant then ran out the door of the residence
