Woman Charged In Connection With Murder of Kim Cantwell

myquette-johnson Myquette L Johnson, 31 of Racine has been charged with 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide,PTAC, as a Party to a Crime after a warrant for her arrest was issued on November 4,2016. She was given a $50,000 cash bond after appearing in Racine Circuit Court on Monday afternoon on a return on warrant. Her Preliminary hearing is scheduled on December 21.

According to the criminal complaint on October 5, 2016 the defendant agreed to speak to Racine Police regarding the October 4th murder of Kim Cantwell. She indicated that Harry Fumich killed Kim Cantwell and she had been present at the time her death in an apartment above Sunshine Supermarket. She stated on October 4th, Fumich stated “I hate Kim, she ridiculed my name” and went on to say “How he was tired of Kim and the fact she seemed to start a lot of controversy”.

The complaint reads that the defendant stated that Fumich told her to tell the victim that he wanted to talk to her and to her to distract Cantwell’s boyfriend. The defendant had cut an electrical cord earlier in the day and when asked by the defendant what he was doing he told her to “Shut Up”. The defendant witnessed Fumich allegedly choked the victim to death and took her medication from her pocket. The defendants put the victim in a refrigerator and went to buy crack cocaine. When asked by the victims boyfriend later in the day if she had seen the victim where she denied seeing her.

Upon return it was decided, to throw the victim who was wrapped in a blanket into the dumpster. On October 5th Racine Police found the victim after being notified by a witness that a homicide had taken place
